Dear Friends of MAAH,

This week, an unknown individual came on to the Boston campus, opened an Amazon package containing items for this year’s Juneteenth celebration, scattered the contents, and attempted to start a fire near the African Meeting House. Law enforcement is currently investigating. We take this incident seriously. Fire, even the smallest embers, can devastate historic buildings and neighborhoods like our beloved northern slope of Beacon Hill.

This incident does not stop our work; it deepens our commitment.

As our nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the United States, the stories, struggles, and triumphs that MAAH preserves and reveals are more vital than ever. This history belongs to all of us, and it is our shared responsibility to protect it.

We invite you to stand with us.

At a time when history can be overlooked, challenged, or forgotten, your support sends a powerful message: these stories matter; these places matter, and this work matters.
