| Florence Higginbotham House on Nantucket |
The Museum of African American History has recently developed
corroborating evidence of great historical, political and social importance
regarding the Florence Higginbotham House on Nantucket, one of the four
museum sites immediately adjacent to the African Meeting House, and we are
delighted to share this stunning research with you!
This research reveals a story of incredible legacy,
adventure, accomplishment and a community of purpose. What we have found
validates the strength, resolution and agency of the black community during
the early formation of this nation.
Please join the Museum members, Board of Directors,
friends of the African Meeting House on Nantucket and the historical
preservation community for a tour of the Higginbotham House, presentation,
press conference and reception celebrating this significant history.
